The main objective of this project was to create a logo to be used on a business card. As the nature of the offering is equine, majority of Kenna’s impressions are made at equine events and shows, in conversation, or in the stables. It was imperative that a durable card be created that would show Kenna’s compassion for horse care, while at the same time directing potential clients to her booking site. Horse osteopathy is a unique offering and profession. It is the treatment of medical disorders through the manipulation and massage of the bones, joints, and muscles. Kenna expressed that she would like “a skeletal horse” and if possible some element of the “Vitruvian Man”. Two main challenges rose during this project. The first being that equine anatomy is very specific. This was overcome by several interactions with the client to ensure that as a designer, the skeletal anatomy was properly represented. The second was ensuring that the horse remained within the boundaries of the osteopathy, and not turn into something we would see during el Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead festival).
